In this heart-warming, classic story, George Bailey, grows up in the small town of Bedford Falls, dreaming dreams of adventure and travel, but circumstances conspire to keep him from leaving his home town. Frustrated by his life, and haunted by an impending scandal, George prepares to commit suicide on Christmas Eve. Rescued by his Guardian Angel, George is shown what life in Bedford Falls would have been like had he never been born. Finally realizing the richness of his life, he returns back to his reality, where he discovers that the residents of Bedford Falls, all of whom he has affected for the better, have banded together to save him from bankruptcy.

“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings….”
Come audition for the stage play based on Frank Capra’s holiday classic movie. We’re casting for all roles, from everyday townspeople to the iconic parts of George Bailey, Mary Bailey, Mr. Potter, and Clarence the angel. We need people of all ages, from children to actors in their golden years There are many speaking parts.
Here are a few of the principal role breakdowns. However, there are a large number of various roles of all types to be filled:
George Bailey: (Plays from early 20s-mid 30s) The everyman of Bedford Falls. Decent and kind, must be able to play dramatic.
Mary Bailey: (Plays from early 20s to mid 30s) George’s sweetheart and later wife. Good comedic timing, also plays dramatic.
Clarence Oddbody: (Older gentleman 30+) Angel second class. Sweet, slightly bumbling angel in training who has yet to get his wings. Helps George find his way.
Mr. Potter: (Older gentleman 35+) Conniving banker who owns the whole town, basically the villain of the story.
